AI.ForHumanity.Global is governed by its Establishing Members in accordance with the AI.ForHumanity.Global Principles and Commitments.
The consortium exists to protect and advance a shared mission: artificial intelligence that serves humanity, respects sovereignty, supports transparency, safeguards human dignity, and contributes to responsible and sustainable progress.

The Principles and Commitments Form the Foundation of Governance

Every member of AI.ForHumanity.Global is expected to uphold the Principles and Commitments.
Governance decisions, membership decisions, consortium activities, partnerships, and public representations must remain consistent with their purpose, values, and requirements.

Establishing Members Hold the Highest Governance Responsibility

Establishing Members are responsible for protecting the mission, values, identity, integrity, and long-term direction of AI.ForHumanity.Global.
They hold final governance authority over matters including:
– membership approval, suspension, and exclusion;
– amendments to the Principles and Commitments;
– strategic direction and institutional development;
– use of the consortium’s name, identity, and visual assets;
– public representation of the consortium; and
– measures necessary to protect the consortium’s integrity and reputation.

Amendments Require Establishing Member Approval

Supporting Members and Establishing Members may propose amendments, improvements, or clarifications to the Principles and Commitments.
Regular Members are also encouraged to submit feedback, practical experience, and recommendations that may help the consortium respond responsibly to technological, regulatory, societal, and human developments.
Any amendment must preserve the founding mission and must not materially weaken the consortium’s commitments to human benefit, trust, transparency, sovereignty, safety, accountability, sustainability, or responsible innovation.
Establishing Members hold final approval authority and may veto any proposed amendment that could undermine the purpose, values, integrity, or long-term direction of AI.ForHumanity.Global.

Member Participation in Governance

Supporting Members and Establishing Members may contribute strategic guidance, technical expertise, review, operational assistance, or improvement proposals to the consortium and its aligned initiatives.
Where appropriate, they may also support projects associated with AI.ForHumanity.Global through:
– advisory input;
– technical or ethical review;
– strategic guidance;
– risk and governance recommendations;
– partnership development; or
– practical implementation support.
Such support does not transfer ownership, control, or responsibility for the project unless this is expressly agreed in writing.

Membership Is Based on Alignment

Membership is determined by alignment with the Principles and Commitments, not by participation, visibility, sector, or technology alone.
An organization, institution, project, or individual may join only when its mission, conduct, public communications, governance practices, and approach to artificial intelligence are reasonably consistent with the values and objectives of AI.ForHumanity.Global.
Membership does not constitute certification, regulatory approval, technical validation, investment endorsement, or a guarantee of any member’s products, services, or activities.

New Members Are Reviewed Before Acceptance

Each applicant, nominee, organization, or project may be reviewed before admission.
The review may consider whether the applicant demonstrates:
– meaningful human or societal benefit;
– responsible and transparent AI practices;
– respect for privacy, data governance, and intellectual property;
– appropriate safety measures and human oversight;
– support for AI sovereignty and informed control;
– responsible public communication; and
– proportionate attention to sustainability and resource efficiency.
The consortium may request additional information, clarification, evidence, or corrective action before reaching a decision.

Establishing Members Approve Membership

Establishing Members hold final authority to approve, delay, condition, or reject an application for membership.
An application may be delayed or rejected when alignment with the Principles and Commitments is unclear, insufficiently demonstrated, or inconsistent with the consortium’s mission, integrity, or reputation.
The consortium is not required to accept every applicant and may establish additional membership criteria as its governance model develops.

Membership May Be Reviewed, Suspended, or Terminated

A member’s continued participation depends on ongoing alignment with the Principles and Commitments.
A membership review may be initiated when a member:
– materially breaches the Principles and Commitments;
– misrepresents its relationship with AI.ForHumanity.Global;
– misuses the consortium’s name, logo, membership status, or visual identity;
– engages in conduct that materially harms trust in the consortium;
– fails to address significant safety, transparency, governance, or ethical concerns;
– no longer meets the applicable membership criteria; or
– acts in a manner inconsistent with the consortium’s mission.
Where appropriate, the consortium may request clarification or corrective action before imposing further measures.
Establishing Members may vote to issue a warning, impose conditions, temporarily suspend membership, restrict use of the consortium identity, or terminate membership.

Voting Protects the Integrity of the Consortium

Material governance matters may be decided through internal voting among Establishing Members.
Such matters may include:
– admission of new members;
– membership suspension or termination;
– amendments to the Principles and Commitments;
– strategic direction;
– governance structure;
– public statements;
– official partnerships;
– use of the consortium identity; and
– other decisions capable of materially affecting the consortium.
The consortium may define voting thresholds, quorum requirements, conflict-of-interest procedures, and decision-making processes through separate internal governance rules.

Conflicts of Interest Must Be Managed Responsibly

Members participating in a governance decision should disclose any material personal, professional, financial, or organizational interest that could affect their impartiality.
Where appropriate, a conflicted member may be required to abstain from discussion or voting.
Governance decisions should be made in the best interests of AI.ForHumanity.Global and its shared mission rather than for the exclusive benefit of an individual member.

Members Retain Their Independence

Each member retains its own legal identity, ownership, governance, mission, brand, products, services, technologies, intellectual property, and responsibilities.
AI.ForHumanity.Global provides a shared foundation for values-based collaboration and public alignment. It does not replace, acquire, manage, or control the independent activities of its members unless expressly agreed in writing.
Membership does not automatically create a legal partnership, joint venture, agency relationship, employment relationship, or authority for one member to act on behalf of another.

Use of the Consortium Identity Must Be Accurate

Members may use the AI.ForHumanity.Global name, logo, membership designation, and approved visual assets only in ways that accurately represent their relationship with the consortium.
Members must not imply:
– certification or regulatory approval;
– endorsement of a specific product or service;
– financial or legal responsibility by the consortium;
– authority to speak on behalf of the consortium;
– ownership or control by the consortium; or
– a deeper partnership or affiliation than has been formally approved.
Misleading, unauthorized, outdated, or reputationally harmful use may result in a request for correction, restriction of usage rights, membership review, suspension, or termination.
Detailed brand and trademark requirements may be established in separate identity and usage guidelines.

Governance Is Transparent in Principle and Confidential Where Necessary

AI.ForHumanity.Global aims to operate with openness, fairness, accountability, and procedural integrity.
At the same time, internal discussions, applicant reviews, voting records, security matters, personal data, commercially sensitive information, and dispute-resolution processes may remain confidential where necessary to protect fairness, privacy, safety, legal obligations, or member integrity.
Public transparency should be balanced with responsible confidentiality.

Governance May Evolve

The governance model may be refined as AI.ForHumanity.Global grows and as technology, regulation, society, and member needs develop.
Any change must remain consistent with the consortium’s founding mission:
Artificial intelligence built for humanity, grounded in trust, sovereign by design, responsible in operation, sustainable in practice, and open to constructive collaboration.
